Yay! It's Yuletide again! Thank you so much, dearest Yuletide author, for taking on this challenge. You've made me a terribly happy girl already!

Please see below for an excruciating level of detail about my four requests for Yuletide 2011. Of course, novel-length, epic fics are more than welcome ;) but feel free to write something much shorter!

Request 1
Fandom: Actor RPF
Characters: Robert Redford, Paul Newman
Pairings: Robert Redford/Paul Newman (slash)

One of the quintessential double acts of cinema, Newman and Redford's two films together - Butch Cassisdy and the Sundance Kid (1969) and The Sting (1973) - were and remain groundbreaking, timeless classics. They are also the template for all contemporary buddy flicks...and they certainly have their fair share of subtext! Newman and Redford got along like a house on fire and remained total BFFs until Newman's passing in 2008. And they just do not get enough fandom-related love! :(

So, pretty please, Yuletide author...may I have a fanfic featuring Newman and Redford? If you'd rather write a gen/friendship fic, that's fine (I'd love it to be full of the rapid-fire BFF banter these two were known for!)...but really, what I want is Newman/Redford slash (or a fic laden with slashy overtones, in the very least). I'm going to fangirl hell for that, I know. But they're too pretty together, damnit!

Request 2
Fandom: Animorphs (book series)
Characters: Elfangor-Sirinial-Shamtul (Alan Fangor), Loren. Tobias and Ax also welcome! :)
Pairings: Elfangor/Loren (het)

Along with Mulder/Scully, Elfangor/Loren is my lifelong OTP. Their relationship (and the child their relationship produced) is so ridiculously important to the entire Animorphs story arc...and they just don't get enough fandom love. Very sad!

So I'd love to see an Elfangor/Loren story of some sort, please! Go nuts! You could write a long epic about their relationship, you could write about the aftermath of Loren's car accident, and her flashes of memory, like the "flash of blue" that Loren remembers (see book #49 for that reference), you could write an AU story where Elfangor stays on Earth (or returns) and he and Loren raise Tobias together. Or you could write something altogether different. It's your call!

Request 3
Fandom: The X-Files RPF
Characters: Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny
Pairings: Gillian/David (het or friendship)

I've always been a sci-fi fan, and The X Files was my favourite TV show as a kid (much to my mother's displeasure). Dana Scully and Fox Mulder were such brilliant characters (why don't they make TV like this anymore?!) and Mulder/Scully, as mentioned above, are very much my OTP.

But a lot of what made me love these characters so much was the depth and talent of the two lead actors, Gillian Anderson (my very first girl crush) and David Duchovny (one of my first crushes, period). Their chemistry is just phenomenal! I won't mention the always-hilarious tinhat theories that David is Piper's actual father and whatnot...but if they don't make a third X Files film, I don't think I'll ever get over it! ;)

So I'd love to see a Gillian/David story. A romantic tale would be wonderful, but if you'd rather write a friendship fic (or a mixture of both), that's fine, too. A fic in which these two awesome people hang out together (or angst over each other from a distance...whatever floats your boat! Tragic unrequited love FTW!) would make me more than happy!

Fandom: Tintin (comics/graphic novels/cartoon series)
Characters: Tintin, Captain Archibald Haddock
Pairings: Tintin/Haddock (slash or friendship)

When I was little, I was obsessed with the cartoon The Adventures of Tintin. This, in turn, got me onto the comic books/albums/graphic novels/whatever term you prefer. And they were so awesome, too! And now Spielberg and Peter Jackson have made a Tintin movie! Yay!

While Tintin in all its forms has an enormous fanbase, there is nowhere near as much fanfiction as I'd like ;) The relationships in Tintin are certainly fascinating and I'd love a fic wherein the mutli-layered and complex bond between Haddock and Tintin is explored. Whereas Tintin and Chang have this terribly chaste boycrush going on, the relationship that Tintin has with Haddock is a relationship between adults...whether you view that relationship as romantic or platonic, it is still an adult relationship. And whether Haddock is following Tintin on crazy rescue missions to Tibet (and offering to cut himself loose while dangling by a rope from a cliff-face, sacrificing himself so Tintin can live), or Tintin is saving Haddock's drunken, hallucinating self in the vacuum of space, it's clear they're totally in love with each other...platonically or romantically.

With that in mind, if you'd rather write a fic about Haddock and Tintin's deep and unbreakable friendship bond, that is more than fine with me. But if you're happy to write about them in a romantic sense...oh, my, would I ever be pleased! ;)

( One moment, Stephen was trying to convince Jon that George W. Bush’s worst idea was to hire whoever the hell it was that picked out those God-awful ties he wore, the next, a large, gaping vortex full of swirling colours, mathematical equations and what looked to be various disembodied foodstuffs opened up in the wall behind the water cooler. )
